The dining scene in Bangsar changes so often, that if you spend some time away, you are likely to find new establishments the next time you visit. Although it may feel like reinventing the wheel, the diverse cafe culture in Bangsar and its popularity make new places to eat an attraction.

Here are some of the new places to eat in Bangsar in 2023.

  1. Sushi Hana
  2. The Farm
  3. Ceylon Crab House
  4. JUS Resto Bar

I will highlight what you should expect when you visit these new cafes, and why they stand out.

1.   Sushi Hana

Sushi Hana is the brainchild of the popular sushi chef, Haruka Hokune. Naturally, this has become the authentic sushi cafe in Bangsar. The eatery has a simple but elegant decor. The rooms are partitioned to provide guests with privacy. Its central feature is the sushi counter.

While sushi is the dominant dish, you may also find seasonal dishes, such as sawara tataki served with Japanese onion sauce. The cafe also organizes special events, such as the Edomae omakase, a sushi-tasting event.

2.   The Farm

The Farm’s concept of dining will always have a place when discussing food in Bangsar. The idea that guests get freshly picked food from the farm to the table is favorable, especially now that more people are seeking a healthier diet.

Bangsar will no doubt keep attracting new entrants in the cafe business. Some cafes use their specialty to attract new guests, while some retain a more traditional client base because of the quality of service.

Whatever your preference, you should try out the new places to eat. You can then decide if they are worth the occasional visit or if you’d rather stick with the older cafes because they offer the best food in Bangsar.

3.   Ceylon Crab House

Ceylon Crab House is a new cafe in Bangsar that specializes in Sri Lankan crab cuisine. Located in Bangsar Shopping Center, it offers a great dining experience.

Some of the signature dishes include the Singapore-style chili crab, crab sothi, Jaffna-style crab curry, and Negombo-style crab curry. It also offers a diverse spread of beef, chicken, mutton, and fish dishes.

If you are wondering what to eat in Bangsar, but don’t have your heart set on crab, you can still try any of the other dishes on the menu.

The cafe in Bangsar South is family-friendly and also ideal for office meetups, birthdays, and other special occasions.

4.   JUS Resto Bar

The other new popular cafe in Bangsar is JUS Resto Bar. It is a non-halal collaboration between Wholly Spirits and Atelier Binchotan. This is a reprieve for guests who have always wanted to go to Atelier Binchotan but hardly ever get a reservation.

This cafe Bangsar opened its doors in November 2022. The modern decor follows some of the latest trends, which gives a sense of comfort and belonging to anyone who walks through the door.

It offers contemporary dishes with influences across the globe. For example, the chicken wings have a touch of Lebanese sauce (Muhammara), while the Iberico ribs are seasoned with mala spices.

The cafe is a safe space for people seeking food in Bangsar but are not keen on a specific cuisine.
